Think of the universe as a gateway to faith."
Imagine for a moment that you are looking at the sky on a quiet night.
Don't think about the names of the stars, nor about the equations of physics…
Just look.
And let your heart wonder before your mind does:
How is it possible that such beauty and precision could harmoniously exist without a Creator?
The Quran draws one’s attention to this idea in a simple, yet profound way:
“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding.” (Al Imran 190)
It is as if the verse is telling you:
The universe is not a spectacle… but a message.
And each and every part in it is evidence,
but evidence is only grasped by those who use both their heart and mind to think.
The universe does not merely constitute a background to your life.
It is rather an open book,
whose pages are the stars,
whose lines are the mountains,
and whose punctuation is the movement of time.
And when you begin to read that book… you discover that faith is not a story that is imposed upon you,
but rather the natural outcome of a sincere journey of meditation.
There is no need for you to be an astronomer to understand,
nor to be a philosopher to ask questions.
It is enough for you to stand before the heavens…
and let questions stir within you:
How was everything put in its place? Why do we constantly feel that something greater is waiting to be seen?
The universe doesn't shout…
It whispers.
And the whisper of the universe is a path…
For those who tread upon it sincerely,
Allah opens for them a door of light that will never close.
