One of the signs of the last day is the split of the moon.

One of the greatest signs indicating the authenticity of what the Prophet Muhammad brought, is that when the deniers asked him to show them an extraordinary evidence of [the validity of what he brought], he pointed to
the moon, that spitted into two parts by God Almighty’s permission. This sign can still be observed today.

Allah said ( interpretation of the meaning ) :

{ The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]. And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic." }
