{ And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. And he drew lots and was among the losers. Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. }
Had it not been for the great worship and good deeds offered by the Prophet Jonah before the whale swallowed him, and his praising and exalting Allah inside the belly of the whale saying : (There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers. ) He would have remained inside its belly until the last Day.
