Good manners when seeking permission

Good manners when seeking permission

A door is not just wood… A door has meaning.
Behind every door lies a heart that is resting, a family getting together, or a soul seeking safety. This is why the Qur'an teaches us great good manners:

“O you who have believed, do not enter houses other than your
own houses until you ascertain welcome and greet their
inhabitants. That is best for you; perhaps you will be reminded. And if you do not find anyone therein, do not enter them until permission has been given you. And if it is said to you, “Go back,” then go back; it is purer for you. And Allah is Knowing of what you do.”[An-Nur: 27-28]
Asking permission... is showing respect for the other's privacy.
Greetings precede walking in.
Security precedes the encounter.
It's not a mere "May I come in?"... but a declaration that I'm knocking on your heart before I knock on your door.
A small token of good manners... but which contributes to building a large community based on purity and modesty.
Whoever has not learned how to ask permission... has not learned good manners in life
