Ethics of War in the Quran.."

Islamic law is distinguished by its just rulings, which are not limited to times of peace but extend even to times of war, setting regulations that govern it and prevent it from becoming a tool of oppression and aggression. Although wars in human history have often been associated with revenge and bloodshed, Islam came to regulate them with ethics and direct them as a means to repel tyranny and aggression, rather than a tool for oppression and destruction.
Islam does not permit fighting except in self-defense or to confront injustice. The Holy Quran affirms this clearly, as Allah says :Fight in the way of Allah those who fight against you but do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors. (Quran 2:190)
