{ And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet [in return] with one better than it or [at least] return it [in a like manner]. Indeed Allah is ever, over all things, an Accountant. }
Every greeting that people are accustomed to and is not forbidden by Sharia must be responded to, so it is enjoined to return it to a non-Muslim and it is more worthy to return the greeting of a Muslim.
Allah said ( interpretation of the meaning ) :
