Acts of Worship
"When you prostrate... everything falls back into place."
How many times have you raised your hands without you realizing you were encountering Allah?
How many prayers have you performed before just out of a habit that was devoid of any soul or quietness?
Worship is not just movements you learn by heart.
It is a beautiful act of humbleness, a moment of honesty between you and your Creator.
When you put your forehead on the ground,
the world around you fades away,
and only you and Allah remain.
Allah, exalted is He, said:
“Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater.” (Al-Ankabut: 45)
Every rak'ah is a training in patience,
and every prostration cleanses the heart from the dust of life.
When you evoke Allah, He evokes you...
So you come to realize that worship is not an obligation, but rather a blessing.
Every sincere act of worship puts in order the chaos that is within you,
and reminds you: you are a servant...and that this servitude is freedom.
In prostration...rest begins.
