Stories of Guidance in the Quran
Not all those who went astray in their life
were necessarily seeking to be lost,
and sometimes we don't go astray because we went away from Allah
but because the path seemed long,
and the heart grew weary due to repeated attempts.
The Quran doesn't tell us stories from a long gone past,
nor does it tell us about events for the sole purpose of entertainment,
but rather it gets nearer to you gently,
and whispers to your heart:
What you are going through… others have also experienced it.
Joseph, peace be upon him,
was thrown into the well. all alone,
then was sold as if he was of no value,
then was unjustly put in prison despite his being pure,
and the story could have ended at any point.
But Allah was a witness,
writing what humans cannot see.
“They said, " Are you indeed Joseph?" He said, " I am Joseph, and
this is my brother. Allah has certainly favored us. Indeed, he who
fears Allah and is patient, then indeed, Allah does not allow to be
lost the reward of those who do good." ” [Yusuf: 90]
In the Quran, guidance
does not always come in a sudden way,
but it rather grows quietly inside pain,
and then is born after quiet patience,
when reliance on oneself withers away… and only hope remains.
The stories of the Quran tell you truthfully:
Guidance may be delayed,
but it is never lost.
And as long as Allah is with you, hearing and seeing,
then even the well…
may be the first step on the path to light
