Stories and History

“When stories illuminate the way”
The stories found in the Qur’an are not narratives to be told,
but rather lights that guide, and secrets whose purpose is to educate. Every story carries a message for the present before the past.
The story of Joseph is not just about envy,
but about purity in exile.
The story of Noah is not about the Flood,
but about patience when disbelief is widespread.
And Moses... is not a political hero, but a man who faced injustice with faith.
Allah, exalted is He, said:
“There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding. Never was it a narration invented, but a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of all things and a guidance and mercy for a people who believe.” (Yusuf: 111)
History in the Qur’an is not for entertainment,
but to construct faith in your heart.
Every story calls out to you:
Stop here, learn, take a lesson, and move on.
Whoever understands stories,
understands the path to Allah,
And whoever forgets them...is bound to repeat the mistakes of the preceding nations.
