Allah said ( interpretation of the meaning ) : { And [recall] when you said, "O Moses, we will never believe you until we see Allah outright"; so the thunderbolt took you while you were looking on. } Quran ( 2 : 55 )
Moses, may Allah exalt his mention, suffered with his people who deviated from worshipping Allah the almighty to the worship of the calf.
