A solemn covenant

Allah took from all the Prophets including Jesus a solemn covenant to convey the commands of Allah and establish the religion he legislated. Jesus fulfilled the commands of Allah.

Allah said ( interpretation of the meaning ) :

{ And [mention, O Muḥammad], when We took from the prophets their covenant and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, the son of Mary; and We took from them a solemn covenant }
