Allah considered the most worthy people of Abraham after his contemporary believers to be Muhammed, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and those who followed him.

Allah said ( interpretation of the meaning ) :

{ Indeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people are those who followed him [in submission to Allah] and this prophet [i.e., Muhammad (^)] and those who believe [in his message]. And Allah is the Ally1 of the believers. }

Quran ( 3 : 68 )
