" Whether one or both of them reach old age.."

 [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.

And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily

And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily,[1] and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,[2]1- i.e., gently, with dignity but without arrogance.2- Or "safety," i.e., words free from fault or evil.
