The believing men and believing women are allies of one another.  They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger.  Those – Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion.  The right course has become distinct from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut [1] and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it.  And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

So why were there not  among the generations before you those of enduring discrimination forbidding corruption on earth   – except a few of those We saved from among them? But those who wronged pursued what luxury they were given therein, and they were criminals.   And your Lord would not have destroyed the cities unjust...
